A New Mom’s Journey To Party Planning

Monster PlatterIn 2010, my son was born and the last thing on my mind was celebrating his first birthday.  I was enthralled with his every movement and rarely took my eyes off of him.  I watched as he made his first sounds, as he grew into his skin and started taking his first steps.

At 10 months old, I started to worry.  What theme should I do for his first birthday, who do I invite, what time should the party be at, where do I buy everything?  The questions were endless.  I wanted his birthday to be one-of-a-kind and I needed a unique theme to pull it off.

I finally picked a theme.  Monsters.  Now, I had to fill in all the blanks.  I scoured through countless stores to discover that there were NO monster party supplies.  I spent endless hours looking through websites for inspiration and ideas. I finally pulled together some age-appropriate party supplies (that ironically were on back order and may not make it in time for the party), got create with the food and pulled together a great party.

But, I wondered…how much time had I lost by searching on my own?  How many activities and ‘firsts’ did I miss my son doing by taking all this time to plan his party?

I only wish I had known then about Tootles Tea Party.  They have amazing themes and take care of everything! I no longer have to miss a moment with my son because I know he will have ‘oodles of fun’ when I hire Tootles Tea Party.
